The copy blogger contest is over and the results are out. Though my entry couldn’t make it, I am really happy to say that I took  part in such a prestigious contest.

Copyblogger Essay Contest Participant

I entered copy blogger contest and not only survived but also learnt a lot :-)

Writing something in 250 words is really a challenging task and I somehow managed to do it :-)

The topic given for the contest is “Why is online authority essential?” and below is a copy of my submission.

Online Authority is it really essential? I thought if you hear it from an authoritative person it would make more sense, and I couldn’t find anyone better than Sir Isaac Newton.

The Significance of Online Authority was just hidden in Newton’s 3 laws of motion and I am going to reveal it to you.

First Law: An object at rest stays at rest, unless acted upon by an external force

Your content, no matter how good it is will stay at rest if your readers are not sure whether you are the right person to say it. Online Authority is the force that builds credibility. Your readers need to know who you are, before they can listen to what you say.

Second Law: Force is equal to mass times acceleration

Online Authority makes both you and your content reliable and it is the force that takes your content to every nook and cranny of the blogosphere. The level of online authority that you have built actually determines how far your content is taken to.

Third Law: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Online Authority is not just about popularity. It’s more about how much you have helped and transformed the lives of people. People may forget what you wrote, but not what you did to elevate their lives. What you give today is what you receive tomorrow.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Comments? Feel free to hurl it down in the comments section. I am all ears :-)
